the army doesn't like morsi. would not be surprised if they were waiting for the right moment to oust him.

You can't talk about Egypt without talking about its military. They are really more a giant armed corporation than what you or I would call a military. Estimates show that the Egyptian Armed Forces control nearly 40% of the economy... I think Morsi is trying hard to appease them with this, and that is likely a negotiated deal, rather than a big F.U. to the military. Why else would you call for retrials of those who killed Egyptian protesters?
