No. What I'm saying is that if people stopped using curveballs cause they were "cheap", most of the innovation to pitching that makes the game great wouldn't exist. But the fact is that it wasn't against the rules so instead hitters needed to adapt to it and evolution occured on both sides of the plate.
BUT when something truly cheap like intentionally dropping infield flies with a runner on started occuring, MLB stepped in and made the Infield Fly Rule, which was the appropriate thing to do, rathern than just scorn players who do it and hope they stop.
