Lincoln is by far the best movie of the year. I would argue one of the best movies ever made. It is a monument.
I'm not even sure why Revenant bothers posting anymore.

Lincoln was good. Head and shoulders better than I was expecting. Fantastic writing.
Still a few examples of that syrupy sappiness with the music swelling in the background that old Steve just can't seem to resist, but not as bad I was expecting.
Daniel Day Lewis is still amazingly good. Sally Field however, is not. They didn't deify the man, but I think it was still too worshipful and optimistic. Maybe even revisionist at the character level.
And Tommy Lee Jones hell yes.
