I've never really followed bands in general. I like songs, but rarely do I like enough of someone's work to actually follow the band itself.
I like a few Radiohead songs, not among my favorites, but good on the rotation.
I own one full box set. Led Zepplin.
Second to that is probably Metallica in number of songs I like or will listen to from a band, but I've never felt the need to get all of their work. I can listen to pretty much anything Pantera, but what songs of theirs I own is from my wife's music collection.
I think I generally like music more, because I don't feel betrayed when a band changes their style (become sucky) or when they decide to split up or shoot themselves. It does make finding music a pain though, not having a good idea of what band's new CD to buy.
The Dead Weather had me excited that I might find another band to follow, but their second album didn't hold up.
I really liked Mumford and Sons first album, but not much into their second.
