Homeworld was the first time I ever heard Barber's Adagio. The music was fantastic, as was the whole concept of a truly three dimensional RTS. Had some amazingly long and complicated LAN games.

it's great to see video games starting to get the recognition they deserve as far as soundtracks and things like that.
minecraft and bastion are two games i can think of with great soundtracks
slightly off topic, i hate that i can't play journey.
