do you realize how fragile the earth is? how truly LUCKY we are that it is the way it is? and how a globalized world smashes "local" problems together into global ones?
cool a river in china is polluted. why does that matter elsewhere? well it dumps into the ocean and pollutes a fair deal of fishing water that korea and japan use. they sell that fish throughout the world. now the world is eating poisonous fish. or here's a fun one. bigger fish and birds eat those fish, get contaminated with heavy metals, and spread that pollution around.
or you can look at things like that big floating pile of plastic and refuse in the pacific. think that's a local problem? did the atlantians not recycle well enough?
