Now I have a question for you.
What happens if a nations social security system (or income redistribution system, or welfare system, or whatever term you wish to refer to it as) grows faster than the nations wealth?
Or, in otherwords, what happens when a nation is handing out more wealth than it is creating.

Depends on what you think the wealth of your nation should be used for.
If it is to be used to support the population you divide it as equally as possible and cut down the amount each individual gets until you have a positive result. If the wealth is to be primarily spent by the private sector to buy luxury items for themselves you don't really have to do anything except let the chips fall where they may.
