My memory has always been kinda crappy. The hardest thing for me in school was to recite a paragraph of poetry or whatever, ask me ten minutes later, it aint gonna happen, so I figured that a careear in singing was probably out. But all the science related stuff I remembered. However, I did forget my car at school, the first day I drove to school. It was only four blocks,so no big deal. But in two years im retiring, if I don't forget,lol. Having a crappy memory ain't all that bad though, because you don't have to kill the people that piss you off, and alot of the same shit is almost like new.

They're reading short words and up to stuff like "Dick and Jane" or "Go Dog Go" at the most advanced.

I think in my case, I didn't have to be forced to learn or bribed with a treat, however, starting preschool in which instead of just playing all day, we spent time learning and there was reading involved for those who could do it, I was more motivated by the environment. In day care I wanted to take part in all the playing that everyone was doing, and in preschool I wanted to be part of the reading that was happening. Socialization I guess.
