Yes, I too prefer to behave like a civilized human being, meaning I don't ever physically attack someone who isn't posing a physical threat to me.

Also because there's a major line I think some people have been misreading, when I said you might get punched for calling someone a douche bag I wasn't talking about my own response (trust me, I avoid huffing and puffing like the plague) but responses of other people you can't control. I then moderated the claim in a second post arguing that calling someone something offensive will escalate a situation, potentially to the point of physical hostility, whereas in the internet those situations can't arise. I don't see how this is a controversial claim, at all, but you're welcome to test my hypothesis by walking to any metro area and calling people douche bags.

I have a dry and sarcastic sense of humor that appears to be totally lost online on people like Broken Robot. Perhaps it has to do with the inability to read tone into a post of text, for instance, idk. I literally talk the very same way to people irl and no one has ever punched me in the face for something I said. I think if BR and I talked irl he probably wouldn't get so butt-hurt, but who knows.

Yes well there's a lot missing here from real life interactions, but I'm not "butt hurt" (how does that happen btw?). It's more like I don't enjoy coming up with clever insults and batting them back and forth, I prefer concentrating my energy on the substance of an idea. Perhaps I'll do that in future conversations and just trim what I perceive to be rudeness (and it's fair, considering I don't know you and generally we assume these things about people for the sake of normal conversation procedure).

Alright my question then would be if you don't see the substance of the idea why engage with it?

i don't think anything regarding how you drink or how much you drink has anything to do with ones manliness.
