Sorry guys, BSG was not that impressive. It may be impressive for TV Sci-Fi, but that's setting the standard astonishingly low.

BSG started out really well then it went down faster than a tampon in a blood bank, I stopped watching by season 2. The Baltar thing became repetitive, every character was sleeping with everyone else and the constant is he/she a cylon became redundant- plus the low budget meant too many closeups and the same old sets.

Same old sets? They built a whole frakking colony on planet hell during season 3. I guess Trek would be guilty of that as well, since of course they were on the same damn ship for 7 seasons....and Baltar went through bigger changes than any other character on the show...

Season 4 was weakest overall, but still quite good. BSG was too popular, and so hipsters have to shit on it.

You dont have to get all nerd rage on me, like I said I stopped watching in the middle of season 2, I might reconsider watching it again but it was just soo slow and it seemed like they werent doing anything for the longest time though.

See, that's something I really liked about BSG. With Trek you get a self contained story and resolution and a magic reset at the end of each episode. You can tune in next week and its as though nothing happened, no matter how horrific.

By the time BSG was over, the characters (those who made it) were tangibly damaged by all the awful shit that had happened to them. They were practically scar tissue. I really appreciated that.

Ya, its not as good for the casual viewer...but I just don't care. All the best dramas these days are done in a serial format, and I think its an extremely good development.
