I think an internet political forum is a terrible place to ask whether people should be civil to one another on the internet.

Be who you are. This is my demeanor when I debate on the internet or in person. I can be an arrogant bastard. I know that. I can also be incredibly understanding. I also know that.
If you're civil then great, if not...you'll probably be treated accordingly. I'm not sure that we're all aware of how civil we are...we're all a bit arrogant (Right all the time).
