Yeah, I thought he would be back by now as well. I hope he's alright. I used to post all the time at an atheist forum, in fact, it was the first forum I ever really posted at regularly. I stopped posting there regularly years ago. Several months ago I got on just to check in and found out that one of the regulars there got hit by a truck on his motorcycle and died. It was really sad. I felt like I knew him pretty well.

Unfortunate.

I've only been an established regular on one internet forum besides this one. I decided to stop posting there for a number of reasons and also felt that it would be better to just step away rather than make some farewell message. I took a look on there a while later and saw that some shitheads had successfully spread a rumor that I died in a car crash.

I was done participating on that site so I didn't bother logging back in to even acknowledge that bullshit, but I did feel kind of bad for some of the posters who genuinely believed it and were offering their respects.

The web is weird about that. I have several IRL friends on facebook that are no longer with us. But they are still there on the web hanging around. Kind of freaks me out, now that I'm getting a little older. lol

You know, there's a pretty good chance that a percentage of regular posters who just disappeared over the years met a sudden demise. Just one day got hit by a bus and were never heard from again.

Scary. It's totally random.

Well, if this is in fact a sign off thread, we can be sure that no one posts on a forum for years and years and years, then makes a farewell thread without peeking back at how people responded. We can still make an appeal to our friend eynon that he shouldn't leave.

You have always been a top notch poster and as far as I can tell, an excellent human being as well. As an excellent human being, you may think you'd be better off leaving this community behind, but it would be a mistake. I have learned much from you and there are others still who should have the chance to benefit from your wisdom. It is a service to the community, no, the world, for you to post here, and I sincerely hope you will continue to participate on this forum.
