I really like the Kodak scene because I think it was one of the few times we saw Don's humanity. he was selling himself on his family, particularly his children.
My favorite scene(s) come from The Suitcase with Don and Peggy, specifically the diner scene and when they laid into each other plus Don calling back out West to find out the real Mrs. Draper died. Again, I think this is where Don showed his humanity most and why I found it so compelling.
I also liked the scene at Peggy's place with her and Dawn.
Now, there are other scenes I love which aren't as dramatic but either funny or just fun to watch. Anything with Peggy and Roger is amazing. Hell, Roger is by far the best character to watch and nearly everything he says is great. The Pete-Lane fight was probably the funniest moment of the show.
Other good stuff is Lane with his father in his apartment, Lane and Don's night out, Peggy smoking pot with the boys. I know I'm missing some.
I understand your criticism of Don, philly, but I actually have more of a problem with Pete. For the first couple years he seemed to just be a foil for the sake of being a foil, then they tried to actually show a different angle for him, but have seemed to make him one-dimensional again, at times.
And I really don't like watching Betty do much of anything.
