Hypothetical future gun control solutions

Every time there is a mass shooting, the debate about gun rights and gun controls renews its ardor. Maybe there isn't an optimal solution now, but a technology progresses perhaps there is a way for us to ensure that those who are likely to commit criminal acts cannot use guns to commit mass murder. This thread is to discuss possible improvements to gun control even if the solution is not yet feasible. Perhaps something like an embedded RFID chip in all new guns that activate the safety when in a no-gun zone (?) This of course wouldn't work for existing guns, but we can work to improve new models of guns.

Psychos like that school shooter are cowards, the moment the first responders entered the school he killed himself even though he had a semi-auto rifle and probably outgunned them. If everyone is armed then nobody is vulnerable.

Biometric scanners for firearm operability. Can be rewritten by feds during legal transfer between buyer/seller. Still probably easy to crack though.

1) Register every gun in this country, give people a certain window of opportunity to register said guns, after that date if one is found in you possession you're going to get prosecuted.

2) Gun owners must keep detailed records of all their firearms and their location, subject to random law enforcement surprise checks.

3) No more private arm sales between individuals.

4) Extensive criminal background checks and annual required mental health tests to keep your gun license.

5) Outlaw the sale of all reloading equipment and supplies.

6) Strictly control all ammunition sales to individuals, see 2 above for required ammo logs.

7) Sever criminal consequences for any individual manufacturing their own firearms/ammo.

restrict gun ownership to 1 per person.
all gun owners to be registered.
increase the minimum age of ownership.

overturn DC v Heller (if that's possible) and require membership of a well regulated militia to own a gun.
fingerprint recognition to switch the safety off (one for the future).
