Really my outrage over Reid goes beyond whether or not one thinks Vick is great, decent, or awful. After the 2009 season, they pulled the trigger on ditching McNabb because Reid had been preparing Kevin Kolb and was supposedly ready to bring the team into a new era. The Kolb Era, had it lasted more than about half of a game, would have been mediocre in the best case scenario, and Reid probably would have already been fired by now, if not for Vick's surprise breakout season in 2010. Really though, in 2010 the Eagles weren't supposed to be anything to write home about and not only Vick, but the offense as a whole really showed a lot of natural chemistry, adjusting quickly and effectively to a totally unexpected personnel change at the QB position. The whole team worked together, but by playoffs it was clear that the o-line was a big weakness and that ultimately proved to be a weakness that was too easily exploited, even with a fast QB in the backfield.
So maybe it's clear where I'm going with this, but in 2010 I saw a team that was going places. Then for the next season Andy is bragging about how he's teaching Vick to be a pocket passer and all the great ways he's training his players so the offense can be even better.
(Note: Reid did nothing to address the o-line situation)
Shit. He ruined a great thing and now the team is a complete joke. Yes, I'm skimming over defense but that might be a kindness at this point. Reid demotes Vick but ironically Reid probably would have been fired before now if not for Vick, and Reid's meddling in Vick's play style has only resulted in worse and worse stats for Vick.
