As a small aside, what's a neutral position on this look like?

Tbqh, I feel as though if you're for gun regulations staying the same or inaction on part of the government after this incident you're in neutral territory.

If you think everybody having guns or teachers carrying on campus is a good idea, you're on the other side of the spectrum, in an extreme.

If you're for banning a specific gun and/or putting schools across the country on lockdown daily you're in the other camp/extreme.

Maybe I'm just some cold heartless f**k, but I don't see why everyone across the country has to inject themselves into this tragedy. All over facebook people were saying they're so depressed and they don't even feel like leaving the house, etc. It didn't happen to you, or your children, so express your condolences sure, but don't act like something terrible happened to you personally.

Semi related: people on facebook are also bitching up a storm because westboro baptist church is going to protest the kids funerals. Stop that. They're f**k trolls. The only thing to do is ignore them completely.

I don't have a problem with the media covering this, it's just how they're doing it. They're plastering his photo about everywhere. His name's in titles across the country.

Don't interview fourth graders. Please. Don't put his photo anywhere. Don't plaster the front page of your website with the tagline:

I saw that on the WSJ. This entire event has been sickening. Everybody's been desensitized to sensitivity and emotions are thusly running rampant everywhere. And who's emotions? I doubt very f*cking much that the victims are thinking about much else besides their lost loved ones. Anyways, I think I'm done here for now. I'm going to listen to music while I play Far Cry III and celebrate the 49ers win.

Oh, and lnrw, there aren't many unarmed SROs. Just about all of them have guns. And IMO, just about all of them aren't needed. They handle schoolyard fights, traffic accidents in and around campus, the usual drugs on campus, etc. I haven't looked at studies on the efficacy of SROs but I have my doubts, which should be apparent at this point.
