I might just be spitballing here... but a guy who blows a fuse and wants to kill a bunch of people for fame.... kills as many as he can. A kid who's trying to feel something, because the drugs he's taking are holding him prisoner... puts 11 bullets in a 6 year old, as Adam Lanza did.

Gun control debates ultimately come down to a simple question for me.
Statistics show that there are far more murders per capita in the US than there are in other OECD countries, and most of them are commited using firearms. Is this because Americans are inherently far more violent ? Or is is because Americans have far more guns ?

It really appears that gun control advocates have very limited and circumstantial evidence that the availability of guns is a unique problem. What actually goes into why someone shoots someone else... can easily involve so many environmental factors... that the limiting of self-defense just because it's an easy thing to limit... adds up to extremely incompetent policy.
