well i know my grandmother used to do that but she learned from her mother, who learned from her mother, both of them lived in italy most of their lives. so i figured it was an italian thing.

I could be wrong but do companies not have a legal requirement to maximize profits for their shareholders? In which case they are required by law to make every legal effort to minimize the tax they pay, no?
