The whole problem with the hypothesis can be summed up by resolution. Because as we become more advanced we can view the universe in small scale and large scale terms with ever increasing resolution, while accurately predicting the outcome, and that resolution never breaks down, it can be theorised that no matter how advanced the simulation, it can never have infinite resolution (as that would indicate infinite computational power in the simulation, an impossibility). Therefore, while the simulation can't be dismissed, and shouldn't, the more advanced we become the more unlikely the probability that it is a simulation. Since the probability trends down at all times, the final outcome can be said to be closer to it not being a simulation , than it being one. This before we even consider occam's razor.
