It's not like the majority of Americans favor imperialistic actions. The political machine constantly has to reinvent scary threats like biological and nuclear weapon deployment to even get the public behind warfare. Whether education can get the majority to be critical thinkers to a degree that it can stop all of that nonsense is questionable. Most of the users here are the most enlightened individuals, and we all vote for the same exact candidates to drive a wedge between smaller issues like gay rights and tax hikes.

Let's see...in a thread about fixing our educational system, we are having an argument about...Russia.
That says a lot.
What our country needs yesterday is a Rebirth of Antiquity. That would solve a lot of our problems. However, the odds of our society shifting towards anything other than instant gratification and self-righteousness is about the same as me winning the mega-millions lotto.
Ergo, the solution lies with a more immediate transition into a nanny state since our populace is incapable of policing itself.
That says a lot.
