Really?
Do ya think it might have something to do with people
not having jobs, for starters?
Or: how about all those people who are underwater with their mortgages as a result of the housing scam implosion? Do you think maybe re-setting their mortgages, all those millions of people... do you think they might be inclined to start spending again knowing their not under a boulder?
How about investing in America's crumbling, pathetic infrastructure? Anything from bridges to broadband--that would certainly create a lot of jobs.
Here's another one: how about getting us out of Afghanistan NOW. People seem to forget that the debt exploded when we got into two endless wars, one of which is still going at a cost of
$300 million per DAY. And... what are we getting for that money?
BTW your document talks about the debt overall.
You don't seem to understand that the GOP and the plutos are using the "debt" as a trojan horse to slash social programs. Defense, hell no. But social programs--of course. Not a peep about the
half trillion so far we've flushed down the toilet in Afghanistan, but all of a sudden now these people are deficit "hawks" who want to put our fiscal house in order?
