Bobby, as much as I've disliked some of the things he's done, said something very smart one day. It was back in 2006 when he was campaigning, and was at a Baton Rouge Chamber event. He said that if you decrease the corporate tax rates by 10%, but increase the number of businesses by 15%, then you are actually getting more money into the state coffers. Or, something to that effect (it's been 6+ years since then).
And, he's been able to prove it. Our revenues have gone up as a state, even though our tax rates have decreased. And, while the recession kind of hurt us, Louisiana wasn't really gripped by it. We were the last to get hit, one of the least affected, and one of the first to recover.
