Do people really put their money into a bank to "keep it safe" anymore? You put it into the bank so that you don't have to carry around your life savings with you, or bury it in the back yard. You put it there so you can have a debit card. You put it there to earn interest on your savings.
Never once have I put my money into a bank thinking that this was the absolute safest place for it. It may well be that very thing. But, that's not why I put it there.

It's a simple fact these two robbers stole money from their fellow human beings. Seven times. At gunpoint. And a weapons stash was found with multiple weapons and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
This was a spree which was only interrupted by the police.
One had served time for robbing a bank before. This did not deter him from ramping up his crimes into a spree.
I find it astounding someone would then try to mitigate these facts by claiming it was the banks which were irresponsible.
