New Orleans sucks. Haven't been anywhere elese in Louisiana so not judging the rest of the state.

New Orleans used to be my party Mecca. But then it got too insane even for me. When the cops are just as likely to rob you, kill you, and toss your body in a ditch as a convicted felon is, it's time to find another happy place.

I'm glad to hear things are looking good for business down there. But the only problem with having a great job there is that you have to live in Louisiana and its culture. It's fine if you don't mind that every girl has a kid or two before they turn 18, and the father is in his mid to late 30s and it is a good chance he's a married preacher.

The cops here are being reformed, also. Once Jim Letten started investigating them, they started acting right. Well, half of them got fired or indicted, and the rest straightened up.

I never even see the party scene anymore. I mean, Bourbon street is here - I can see it from my desk in fact. But, I never go there. I go to a few of the bars in restaurants around the city. But, I've outgrown the Bourbon Stree, Mardi Gras thing.

As for the culture, it's the same pretty much anywhere. We've got our rednecks and welfare babies. But, really no more or less than other places I've been. In fact, the LA Medicaid population is the same as New York's.
