A strike may include a protest, but is not in itself a protest. It is simply a collective choice to cease contractual labor. Any interruption of the choice to cease contractual labor is slavery, which is illegal.
A DDoS attack could be considered like a protest, though any equally disruptive protest would be dispersed legally by police (and they can be automated, which then isn't like a protest at all). It is absolutely nothing like a strike.

I think anyone with the least bit of technical knowledge would agree that a DDoS attack does not constitute actual hacking. Clearly it is more a form of protest than any form of hacking, especially when accompanied by an articulated communique in support of sociopolitical movements.
