Because im not concerned with how everything benefits me. Don't want to die in the military? Don't join the military.

As of today the cost of the Afghanistan war is at $600 billion dollars.

So, Americans: what did we get for that money? Tell me how that has benefited this country in any way. We should have been out of there years ago. The fact that we aren't shows how spineless Obama is and and how clueless Republicans are. We'll scream about how much medicare costs but set money on fire in some stone age country of illiterates whose most recent achievement has been shooting us after we train them and give them the guns to do it.

Putting aside your disrespect for individuals's lives.....

We should not expend US lives and treasure wantonly, and we should be wary of unintentional negative consequences of our "altruistic" military actions.

I would like an addition to that... that the money they're not spending on the New American Century be funneled directly to veterans affairs. The treatment of vets in this country is borderline sociopathic in its apathy.
