I generally agree, especially given the need for a new set of consumers (which can really only develop through stable, liberal governance that allows for growth of financial institutions that foster industry and allow for a middle class).
But I strongly disagree that we can force a functional liberal system onto another nation through military action.
And if the options are: (1) help out a random conglomeration of unknown entities win, and then pray that the ensuing power vacuum is filled by nice guys, or (2) let the situation resolve itself, or even help a repressive but overall friendly regime maintain power, I'm going with option 2 a large majority of the time.
