I lived in Garden Grove during the riots in 1992 and the 1st night was pretty hairy.
Garden grove being a town of heavily Korean and Vietnamese small business owners, they grabbed their shotguns and assault rifles and thwarted the looters and arsonists. Now if you are to drive threw Garden Grove today you will see a community that is doing quit well. If you are to keep driving 5 miles down the road and even into many areas of LA county, you will see the fields where businesses use to be. There was no rebuilding of small businesses, thus less jobs, less income, and more suffering.
Assault rifles saved Garden Grove, and i was there to witness it.
