The Boomer Generation is self-loathing, and that's a fact.

They constantly praise the value of independence, self-sufficiency, fiscal responsibility, etc. and yet in terms of actual adopting those principles, they are completely unsuccessful.

I am generally disgusted with the whole "fighting over scraps" thing, but in this instance, I am more disgusted by the behaviour of a particular generation. I realize there are exceptions, and some of those exceptions are my parents, and presumably people like Precocity. But what is going on now is nothing more than an older generation outright refusing to take responsibility for their own actions, even while calling us selfish because we want an education or, god forbid, reasonably accessible health care.

The problem with boomers is that they're so narcissistic that they always see every time as a good time for someone else to stick their necks out or sacrifice. Never them. They didnt appreciate the greatest generations sacrifices in WW2 and hiw it set them up to grow up and come of age in such a prosperous world. they marched in the streets to avoid fighting in Nam, and when they passed military age they didn't hesitate to send the younger generation off to the Middle East. Now they're facing old age and once again it's someone else's turn, anyone but them, to sacrifice. Like I said, we'll do it too. Millennials aren't narcissistic like Boomers but we are very hubristic so we believe we have it in us to set things right.

Humans seem to think their population and wealth can be infinite. The finite world and rescources seem to be saying otherwise.

It seems like these monthly I hate the boomers threads are getting confusing and repetitive. If it is a sticky we can easily look back and see what was already covered.

I wouldn't mind that. It would give the Millennials a place to organize Boomer death panels, and probably we could have rational conversations that don't revolve around archaic conceptions of the world as it was thirty years ago.
