I'm surprised the Libertarians on this forum aren't being critical and/or laughing their asses off at the article characterizing Beck as a Libertarian..

I'm not a Libertarian, nor do I pretend to know all their principles and concepts but I do know Beck is about as much as a Libertarian as, well, I am..

They're both incredibly inconsistent. And isn't Beck a social conservative? Pro child pregnancy. Pro marriage inequality.

Beck has re-invented himself many times.. And why not? It's made him very rich. So besides hating Obama and seeing a conspiracy around every corner who really know what his social and political positions are now? But in the past his views would definitely be seen as being very intrusive in people's daily lives.

For 4 or so years hooked himself up the the TP because it was a good way for him to make some money and he felt they were the best way to defeat Obama.. That didn't work.. So now he might feel it's time to 're-invert himself' again, and bilk a whole new group of people out of their money.

Libertarianism rests on a very weak foundation, namely, property rights. All of its various inconsistencies derive from that fact. It allows people to object to taxes on the basis of force, even though property rights themselves require an enormous amount of force to sustain.

Really it is nothing more than an attempt to put principles atop a backwards worldview that doesn't seem to describe human life at all.
