There have been several incidents of police shooting dogs in the Austin area as well.

Now you guys want to argue which forum it belongs in? It's political in nature and I prefer not infesting The Lounge with political topics thank you very much.

General Politics then? Front Page news infers, at least to me, news of importance. This seems largely marginalized and IMO reminds me of my local news station's obsession with mountain lion sightings.

Well no, it's common practice to put the days biggest news on the front page of a newspaper and I figured the same would hold true here as well. It's not going to bother me but I do feel it brings down the stature of the section if not the site.

I seriously doubt one thread is going to have that much of an impact on the stature of our site when it's location is questionable. If our stature is that fragile, then maybe it's time for uebermann and me to discuss it and not get into a public debate about it.
