Tend to agree about the Hurt Locker. Well made, but not that great of a movie.
Was it better than its weaksauce competition that year, in terms of movies that aren't Tarantino, Scifi, or animated, and thus have a chance at winning? Probably.
Her competition was Cameron (scifi, so no), Tarantino (Tarantino, so no), Lee Daniels (nothing was precious about Precious), and Reitman (Dunno why anyone was nominated for anything for Up in the Air)

Well, I'm talking about the director award, not best picture. Though in the case of Zero Dark Thirty I like Bigalow for both.

I want to see Zero Dark Thirty when it hits the redbox or netflix. It's not something I would want to go to the theater to see.
