They should just do a background check on each individual to see if they have a felony background. There doesn't need to be any lists to do that.

I notice the ACLU has been absolutely silent about all this. As a matter of fact, their website makes no mention for or against gun control. I wonder why?

I'm confused here. You start out by opposing the idea of monitoring gun owners, but then end up by proposing that would be gun buyers have to be registered on a list, and that this list has to be monitored by the government. How is that any different from what you started out opposing ?

In the past, and now when the gun discussion starts many in the pro-gun crowd compares cars to guns. They would semi-sarcastically say since cars kill thousands of people too, lets ban all cars..

BUT to drive a car you must be licensed, and insured, and be at a minimum age. The car must be registered. AND if you caught using that car while you are drunk, or unlicensed in 'most' cases you are in for a world of sh1t..

If we are going to compare cars to guns? How about to buy, own and use a gun we use the example of buying and owning and using a car?
