I've been a big fan of the late Joan Sims for years. I never once saw her acting. She just was that person, which is a very rare attribute.
I hate it when I can see the acting. I won't watch anything with Nicholas Cage or Leonardo di Caprio for that reason.
Cage is absolutely rubbish and that hang dog expression makes me want to kick his teeth in. All di Caprio can do is scowl at everyone. Doesn't work, mate. You still look about twelve.
Most actors seem to have an expression they use as standard, though, but at least they try and show some animation now and again - unless they're Thandie Newton, in which case they just stand around like a waxwork of themselves. The most animated she gets is grimace to flex her cheek muscles in close ups.
