don't know if they are travelling the stars. we could just be picking up their sitcoms broadcast into space, hundreds of years later. interstellar travel is so slow and it's very unlikely they've mastered half the speed of light travel let alone more than the speed of light. i'm just sayin', if we picked up transmissions, i would not respond directly to their source until we're ready. if we get targetted transmissions (that is, they sent something to us) i'd still delay. if they came to our doorstep, yes, we're likely f**k
