no they weren't. the themes in the movies and the violence are above and beyond anything that would be made for children.

yeah show me a disney movie where someone gets cut in half with a laser sword or an entire school of children is murdered.

I don't know or care if you love star wars but I've always seen them as kids movies thus I find it ridiculous that adults get so critical about them.
