On the subject of the OP - I totally agree that many people are over-qualified and over-educated. For a while here in LA, we were really pushing our community college and trade programs. I've said it before - you can make a lot more money being a blue-collar worker that is good at what you do, than you can being an underpaid white-collar guy. For instance, those 5% janitors with BAs don't make nearly as much as a carpenter with a good apprenticeship.
On the subject of society, we will never have a system where everyone is equal. I firmly believe that we all start that way. But, we make ourselves better. And, those that make themselves better should naturally have more power, more authority, etc. than the others.
Yes, one bee has more potential than another. The bee that is born in the hive under my gutter doesn't have nearly as much potential as the one born in a hive at a honey farm. Why? Because I'm going to kill all the bees under my gutter in about 6 hours. Is that wrong? No, it's just the way things are.
