I'm okay with JJ Abrams getting Star Wars. Even has the writer of Little Miss Sunshine and Toy Story 3 doing it (not Lindelof thank god). And Lucas staying in a galaxy far far away.

star wars is awesome enough that with a mediocre director it should make a great movie.

In defense of Lucas:
My 4 1/2 year old got to watch The Empire Strikes Back for the first time yesterday. He got hooked on Star Wars Angry Birds, so I've introduced him to the source code with Star Wars a while back (and he'll get to see Return of the Jedi soon). I've made no mention of the other three films made later. They don't exist in his world (nor mine).
It was really fun getting to watch it with him. He loved it and had so many questions...
