Gotta vent about the show Merlin (spoilers)

The BBC has not made a good drama since Sherlock. In fact thats the only one i'd give a score above 'shit' in memory.

I agree with uebermann. I've watched a few episodes and basically got bored. Of course I get bored with any movie or TV show if I feel like the script was too predictable or just plain stupid. Also when you see something that makes absolutely no sense like uebermann pointed out with the sorcerer in the cell. Similar to slasher movies where you want to scream at the actor/actress "don't open that f**k door you moron" and they do. We are supposed to be shocked when that axe comes crashing down on their head? Yawn.

The best shows and movies are the ones where I have no idea what's going to happen next, not ones where I could run a bathroom/kitchen break and come back and know what happened. I am not saying that ones that have predictable scenes are bad or you know what the outcome will be, just that the ones that aren't predictable intrigue me even more. But each to their different tastes.

I would also give Merlin 4/5 grumpies.

It was OK for what it was, which is a programme kids could watch with their parents. That's why it was shown at Saturday tea time.

Speaking of BBC, anyone watch Hustle? I like it.

The BBC has to make money from somewhere, you know. The licence fee doesn't go far.

Programmes such as Hustle and now Ripper Street make a lot of money allowing amazing programmes such as Africa to be made.

ITV are getting in on the act, too. Downton Abbey is raking it in, and I expect Mr Selfridge will do the same.
