OK, Im bored waiting for new seasons of Boardwalk Empire, Walking Dead, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and Sons of Guns. Does anyone have recommendations based on my above preferences?

Walking Dead is the only show mentioned that I watch actively, though I should get into Breaking Bad, Scandal and Sons of Anarchy, according to my friends and family.

Homeland is pretty good.
Also you need to watch The Wire, duh.

Homelands is good.
Last Resort, although cheesy, has a great premise and is enjoyable to watch.

PoS I'm actually thinking The Wire won't be one of your favorite shows but as a serious fan of serialized television it's one you need to have under your belt regardless. Personally it's my favorite show ever though.

Homeland <- Starting to go downhill a little, but still entertaining
Girls <- Guilt pleasure. Well acted, intriguing story line, good dry humor.
New Girl <- Schmitt is the star of that show, and when the writers realized that, they did a whole episode of Zooey's boobs hanging out.
Parks and Rec <- Simply hilarious.
I think those are my top TV shows right now.
