Correct Indy. The 5 point Likert scale is the most common in surveys. Often they group for summaries though. We see that a lot in polls.
The most common scale is worded a little different but it's pretty much the same. I think the reason the scale is worded different is to eliminate absolutes. It's easier for people to select Strongly than Totally. This gives a better representation since people that Totally agree would have no problem selecting Strongly agree but not the other way around.

There is also a 7-point scale and a 10-point scale. 7 point scales are rarely used. 10 point scales are typically used to crunch numbers for totals. It depends on how detailed they want to get to separate groups.
But for the purposes of this thread, a 5-point scale would be more than satisfactory in my opinion.
