when I was a wee-one (like tiny) I loved stuff like this:

apparently I would stare at them for hours. Parents figured I had the makings of an engineer or architect...(sigh)they try to hide their disappointment, but sometimes it peaks out.

oh books like that are awesome. i had one on shipwrecks, the titanic, and one of those "picture encyclopedias" of armor, swords, etc.
