1. I am not moving this to Alternative Theory (yet). It may end up there eventually but I feel it's worth discussion now in the Gun Rights forum and there's a lot of people that don't buy the story.

2. Is this a major issue? No. Is this worthy of discussion? Absolutely. I don't care who is in the White House but when they say something provide something believable. Especially in regards to guns. Call it my pet peeve, obsession, whatever.

3. The reason I believe this picture was produced was purely for damage control. He made a statement that very few were finding it hard to believe. Only after pressure was a single photo released. The reason I started a thread about it - see #2.

he shoots guns but he undoubtedly does not do it "all the time". it's an expression but he probably means "like once a year, if that". he shouldn't have said "all the time" because we all know it's not true. everyone knows this, but it's such a dumb thing to call someone on.

if i recall though, fienstien's bill is to make a change to the assault weapons ban to make it so it has ONE of the conditions in the original ban

the conditions for shotgun include

Folding or telescoping stock
Pistol grip
Fixed capacity of more than 5 rounds
Detachable magazine


i'm pretty sure that obama could fire 9 rounds at you without reloading his assault weapon
