Photoshoppers go nuts with Obama skeet picture in defiance

So let's examine that premise. They produce a photograph and tell people to not photo-shop it but their intent is really for people to photo-shop it?

Why? That's what makes it 100x more puzzling. Putting up a picture, as damage control to accusations that he lied is one thing but adding the part about demanding people not photo-shop it is mind boggling.

Are they that stupid to assume people would obey? Or did they do it deliberately knowing people wouldn't listen for some nefarious motive? There has to be a reason for doing that.

1. He puts up a picture for damage control.
2. His opponents quickly challenge the authenticity of it, and will probably question him further on this.
3. He realized that some people are photoshopping the picture, and saw that as a perfect opportunity to diffuse the issue from gun control to photoshop.
4. He issued a demanded that resulted in the many photoshop entries.
5. Now if Republicans challenge him on the authenticity of the picture he can joke about it and pull out some photoshopped ones, like he did with the Lion King video with the birthers.
It's damage control for the ineffectiveness caused by the initial damage control.

So they created a mockery to lead to more mockery.

They're redirecting the mockery after realizing their mistake. Obama doesn't have enough political capital to talk about gun controls now. He does however have plenty of political capital to banter about Photoshop. It's a classic trick of changing the subject.
