I am really into the show. in response to the "talking to the camera" comments, the show is based off of a novel so im order to translate his thoughts on screen they had to have him direct the camera. i like it.

has anyone else notices Kevin Spaceys accent? he doesnt seem to have it in every scene and it is really distracting to me. at first i figured it was only when he was talking to the camera/audience but there was a scene in his office and he had the accent and then again when he went to Georgia but when he talks to his wife and in other scenes there is no accent. it bugs me.

oh and Kevin Spacey scares the shit out of me.

Plenty of films and shows based on books are able to convey the characters thoughts and feelings without such a heavy handed approach. Game of Thrones for example is based on novels, but the characters don't think out loud. It's was a stylistic choice though I'm finding it less irritating as I get used to it.

His monologues are good enough to do that.

i don't have netflix O.o as i have amazon prime but highly priced original content on not-tv is a great thing. i'd rather pay for content not a television channel

philly, as for talk to camera and game of thrones, ned's thoughts of his sister and what she said to him are never known in the show

Show is really amazing. Got into the second episode... so, so much potential. Loving how their are no cliffhangers, and the flow of the show is so natural...
