Whatever, "scouting" is the American version of Hitler Youth and the Young Pioneers. Not to mention it was introduced into Africa by the British as an instrument of colonial authority.
These are the facts surrounding the creation of the group and it's basis. The fact that little kids think it is fun is hardly relevant. It's designed to be fun and a positive experience so you will like nationalism.

Also while scouting is not specifically concerned with promoting a particular religion it is undeniable that one of it's main tenets is reverence for the spiritual aspect of being and belief in a "higher power".
