There will always be conflicts between groups of humans, but wars in the modern sense are conflicts between nation/states. This outcome of ending these can certainly be realized, by diffusing the vast accumulations of political and military power that we call nation/states.
There's no rational reason to accept the worst outcome as inevitable.
