Those same people probably want a drastic reduction in certain cases though, like military spending.

I would be all for serious spending cuts, including cuts to entitlements, IF the cuts were across the board. If the everyone shared in the pain..
But that's not going to happen. Too much money in the government now, with too many lobbies protecting too many special interest groups. We have a broken government, and IMO, the lobbies and the money in government broke it.
