Why not celebrate Valentine Day? There is no downside to taking any opportunity to show anyone (lover, Mom, your kids) that you care for them. Shit. I wish we had 10 more "Days" of any positive nature to celebrate. The first "Day" I'd make would be Swap Stories Over Scotch and Cigars Day. Now that one I could get into.

DH pretty much summed up my feelings on vday. I would love a romantic gesture, but not on a day that he feels like he has to/is pressured to do so. it would mean more to be completely random. and jk and i celebrate our love all the time, i dont need one single day to do it.

flowers are the worst gift of all time!!! why is a gift that every other woman is getting special?? makes no sense. plus they die. thanks for this bouquet im going to have to cut, find a vase for, and water/clean everyday until they get ugly and die and then ill have to clean up. no thanks.

another thing since im bitching....why is it always assumed that the guy is the one who has to do everything for vday?? how is that fair? what about the guy in the relationship?? he should be pampered with love and gifts too and not just bc he got his girl something.

but if jk finds himself in the mood on any other day, ill take food of some kind. preferably chocolate covered strawberries and pink champaign

I think it is adorable to celebrate vday with your kids. i think what Em is doing is really sweet and the perfect way to celebrate this day since kids love that stuff.
