Yeah, I totally believe that citizens in Illinois, New York and Oregon should be able to tell parents in Kansas what they teach their kids.
Is climate change happening? I'm 99% sure that it is. For a current scientific theory, that's not a bad percentage. But, on one hand, why not present both sides and make it an interesting exercise to have the students see which conclusion they come up with?
Then, on the other hand, if the people in Kansas want to teach their kids the wrong things, that's their right. Yes, as stupid as it may sound, there is nothing illegal about teaching your kids the wrong things. Teach them that 1+1=petunia - it's OK, the police won't arrest you.
I don't know why so many people have a hard-on for telling so many other people how to live their lives.
